Zhengze Intelligence: Building on Two Decades of Emergency Rescue Expertise to Carry Forward the "Life First" Mission

Xuanwu·Tanyuan: Charting Safe Escape Routes Amid Blazing Fire Scenes

Weng Jinping, Deputy General Manager of Zhengze Intelligence Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., elaborated on the core strengths of the Tanyuan robot. Equipped with a tracked chassis, the robot boasts a large ground contact area and exceptional obstacle-crossing capability. It can easily traverse collapsed rubble, thick fire hoses, and even climb staircases with an incline of 30 to 40 degrees.
Its primary deployment scenarios cover factories and industrial parks. High temperatures during fires warp, tilt and even collapse steel structures, making manual entry extremely perilous. Tanyuan is designed to venture in first for site reconnaissance.

How Tanyuan navigates pitch-black fire environments

The robot is fitted with a 3D LiDAR module alongside dual visible-light and infrared cameras. The LiDAR continuously emits laser beams; by calculating the reflection time of laser signals, it maps the surrounding space into a dense 3D point cloud. Combined with footage captured by the dual cameras, Tanyuan constructs real-time 3D terrain maps as it advances. The maps highlight abnormal high-temperature zones and blocked passages, enabling command teams to pre-assess hazards and prevent firefighters from entering impassable areas.

To render reconstructed scenarios with heightened realism, the R&D team adopted the cutting-edge Gaussian Splatting technology. The technology fills spatial volume with countless tiny light points embedded with color and transparency, reproducing authentic textures and lighting effects comparable to VR visuals. However, ultra-high fidelity demands massive computing power — refined reconstruction would take 3 to 5 hours, far too slow for time-critical rescue missions.
The team struck a critical balance: slight compromises on visual fidelity unlock real-time data transmission. A usable 3D spatial preview is delivered to the command center every 30 seconds, with live streaming updates allowing dispatchers to monitor interior fire conditions round the clock.
Additional functional highlights:
  • Built-in sensors capable of detecting 13 types of hazardous combustible and toxic gases
  • Independent autonomous navigation mode: Avoids blind spots and collisions caused by limited manual remote vision; LiDAR and embedded algorithms enable automatic pathfinding, leaving human operators to oversee data and make strategic decisions
The name Tanyuan, meaning "plumbing the unknown abyss", encapsulates its mission: it ventures into perilous, uncharted fire zones to absorb all risks, safeguarding firefighters on the ground.

Xuanwu·Xunyu: Containing Fires Within the Crucial Initial Minutes

The autonomous fire-fighting vehicle Xuanwu·Xunyu targets residential communities and industrial parks, bridging the "last mile" gap in grassroots fire prevention and emergency response.
Official fire safety regulations mandate on-site fire response teams and 24-hour patrol services for residential compounds, yet persistent manpower shortages — especially overnight — make full compliance difficult. Xunyu works alongside grassroots fire crews to ease operational burdens.
Within enclosed, route-fixed environments such as neighborhoods and industrial zones, autonomous driving faces far fewer challenges than open public roads, allowing Xunyu to conduct scheduled automated patrols along preset routes.

Early warning & ultra-fast fire suppression

Xunyu is equipped with a dual visible-light and infrared gimbal camera array. Infrared thermal imaging detects abnormal heat signatures long before naked eyes spot flames, pinpointing fire origins instantly.
Fire protocols require grassroots response teams to acknowledge alarms within 3 minutes and arrive on-site within 5 minutes. Still, early-stage fires escalate rapidly, particularly thermal runaway and combustion of electric vehicles. The golden response window lasts merely 2 to 3 minutes; delayed intervention often triggers large-scale conflagrations.
Once linked surveillance cameras detect fire hazards:
  1. Xunyu responds in 1 second
  2. Automatically calculates the fire source direction and navigates to the scene
  3. Arrives on-site in roughly 2 minutes
The vehicle carries a 260-liter onboard water tank paired with an automated fire monitor, supporting 6 to 7 minutes of sustained targeted water spraying. It extinguishes incipient blazes automatically, effectively curbing fire spread before human responders arrive.

Safety-focused wireless charging & integrated fire education

A vital safety design detail is its electromagnetic induction wireless charging system, identical to the principle of smartphone wireless charging. Energy is transferred contactlessly via paired coils installed on the ground and vehicle bottom.
Contact-based plug-in charging generates electric sparks during connection and disconnection — a severe hazard in areas prone to flammable gas accumulation. Wireless charging eliminates this ignition risk entirely.
Furthermore, the vehicle body integrates a digital fire safety publicity screen. It broadcasts fire prevention knowledge during daily patrols, realizing an all-in-one system covering patrol, fire suppression and safety education.

The Journey Ahead: Empowering All Industries With Unmanned Smart Technology

Built on 20 years of accumulated emergency rescue expertise spanning Tanyuan and Xunyu, Zhengze Intelligence is accelerating the deployment of unmanned robotic technology across broader industrial scenarios.
Moving forward, the company will persist in core technological breakthroughs for unmanned platforms, focusing on autonomous navigation, environmental perception and intelligent decision-making capabilities. It aims to upgrade unmanned systems from single-function execution devices to versatile multi-scenario general platforms, continuing to write new chapters for intelligent unmanned emergency solutions across diverse sectors.
